Jericho aquires a new name.....

Well Ellie and I made it through mom's harvest time and our grandparents visit.
We were fairly well behaved and a little subdued while they were here....BUT after they left did I cut loose! I played on the log archway above the foyer(about 17' high over wood floors) and gave mom a heart attack even though she had put out scat mats I flew from the steps over the railing and onto the log. It was very slick but I held fast and was planning to climb up to the top of the main log which is 23' high or maybe a dash across the antler chandelier and into the window sill on the second story. I am not sure which idea it was that made mom ask me very nicely to come back and let her pet me so I obliged as always and once she had me she about passed out. I never did get to go back upstairs. Mom set up a a very nasty stair bombing of scat mats set to high and a cardboard gate. I haven't yet figured out how to get through it all. Mom just smirks at me now when I look up at the log.
I have also decided to jump on the kitchen island and table..... I did that while the grandparents were here to try and impress them with my abilities. Mom and dad weren't impressed at all and more scat mats were laid out. I can smell them now and don't jump when they are there....but sometimes they aren't!

Mom wanted to post some new pics of me but she hasn't figured out the photo software on the new computer yet. I have really grown and turned much darker. I weigh 17lbs now but still have more to go.

I love to play fetch and drive the parents crazy hauling my toys around the house for them to throw. Last night I made mom play with me for an hour after dad went to sleep. She tried to sleep but I kept dropping my toy on her face and she would throw it farther and farther till it would start REALLY BOUNCING off the walls. Cool. Eventually she covered her head and that was the end of that.

I am talking constantly to anyone that will listen and even sometimes when they aren't so I now have the nickname JJ short for Jabbering Jericho. Mom says it also stands for Jumping Jericho.
Either way I like it.

Ellie can still kick my butt for a little girl. When she gets done with me she runs over to the Supreme ruler Tater and tries to pick a fight. He is a lot of noise and it scares me so I run and hide. Nothing much ever comes of the noise makers but I want nothing to do with it. Someday Ellie may be the Supreme one but not yet.
I don't much care and get along well with both.

Well hopefully mom will get some photos of me up in the next week or so.
Sure wish I could see and hear from my Sib's and relatives too.

Take care all!

Savannah Supervisors

On a recent renovation of our fireplace, Aja and Shombay took charge and supervised the whole project. Normally I would lock them in their safe room, but the workers are good friends that love animals and have met the cats before.

Both the cats are friendly and like to meet friends, family, and strangers. Shombay is very nosey and loves tools----he snatched a couple but we retrieved them quickly.

Aja saw all the fuss and got in on the action, stealing sponges right out of the bucket (she likes water more than Shombay).Aja even walked across the floor of the hearth and left fresh footprints. We kept them as part of the fireplace (how could we not).

Shombay at one point discovered bubble wrap just by walking on it. He drove me crazy with the popping until he started to bite it, that's when I ruined the party and took it away.

After being scolded, Aja in her typical "Diva" fashion stormed off to another room to take a nap. Snapping her tail like a human would snap their fingers with attitude. Thank goodness she soon forgives!

AJSavannahs Website Down

Two of my websites have been down most of the weekend. I don't think it's related to the photo theft, since I've had service interruptions before. Never this length of time. The main blog is hosted on our website, so that's why it's not coming up, either.

Will likely be moving to another host since Hostway is totally unresponsive. Have emailed, opened a Trouble Ticket online, and been on hold three separate occasions for more than three hours. Never got past the initial menu.

Any recommendations for a quality small business hosting service -- remembering that AJSavannahs.com is a very dynamic site (at least when it's UP) -- any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Sambu and Toki (Terry and Jimmy)

Sambu (Terry) and Toki (Jimmy) are very happily settled into their new home with David in California. He's not set up on the AJSavannahs Family Blog yet, so I just had to share these photos. Sambu is flying from his cat tree and landing on a very soft king-size bed about eight feet away.

Sambu and Toki are F2B kittens from our F1 Kboo and F6A Mbau. This is the same pairing that gave us my sweet Harvey. Their brother Howie is as beautiful, just that our other David, in Florida, (who also has our F2B Tessa from Kboo and Mbau) hasn't sent recent photos! (No pressure there...)

Age five months in these photos, Sambu already weighs 13 pounds, Toki a bit less. We wanted these boys to stay together and were very happy when David obliged. This is the delivery that stranded me in Charlotte, with Andrew coming to our rescu. Andrew has our F2B kittens Zeus from Gabatta, Fina from Kboo, and F3C Isis who is Ayo's granddaughter.

Toki , above, showing off his Happy Tail, below, his beautifully contrasted coat. Although smaller than his brother (who isn't???) Toki has always managed to more than hold his own in any altercation, real or imagined.

Sambu has Kboo's sweet face and I think he's almost as pretty as Harvey. We expect him to be about 90% of Harvey's size when full grown, based on his birth weight and weight at age five months. Toki will be a large Savannah, but always dwarfed by Sambu. Even though Toki has the much larger personality.

We're expecting F2B kittens from Gabatta and Mbau late October. And should know in about a week if Kboo is pregnant, also from Mbau. If yes, her babies would be due mid-November.

BUSY BODIES

Ellie and I volunteered to help mom file and clean up the office. It has been a long time since she's had a chance to do it and the new computer is coming Monday(OH boy!). But......

The copier and desk got to jumping around so much we just plum tuckered out holding them down. Mom said we were especially good at that job.

Mom and dad are sure having fun throwing my toy. I have decided that fetch is the best game for me! The harder to find the better I like it. Mom gets a kick out of watching me strut back with my "prize". I am also into doing great big Serval leaps. Ellie and Tater don't much appreciate them but I do.

Can't wait to see our new little brothers and sure hope that Adrianne is feeling better soon!

Till next time

A lazy morning

Wow it has been awhile since my last blog. Mom is halfway through harvest now and Dad is busy at the office. I will be glad when things get back to normal.

I was going to pounce on Ellie as she was dreaming of flying after reading all of dad's plane magazines but mom said to be good......

So I went on over and told some jokes with my gal pals Gertie and Emmielou. At least they know how to appreciate a good joke.....unlike some people in this family....

Mom says I need to sit back farther from the TV. This is one of my favorites where Cruise gets Nicholson to spill the beans "The truth!? You can't handle the truth!"

Jumped on the scale this morning and I am almost 13 pounds. Mom says I need to eat more as I am soooooo picky. But I do like watermelon and horseradish go figure!

I met my Aunt this weekend and I ran up to her and wanted attention. I don't know any strangers yet. Everyone has been wonderful. I can't wait until my Grandma and Grandpa get here!

Off to play on the new bed. Mom broke down and got us a king size. Now there is room for us all!
