Savannah Supervisors

On a recent renovation of our fireplace, Aja and Shombay took charge and supervised the whole project. Normally I would lock them in their safe room, but the workers are good friends that love animals and have met the cats before.

Both the cats are friendly and like to meet friends, family, and strangers. Shombay is very nosey and loves tools----he snatched a couple but we retrieved them quickly.

Aja saw all the fuss and got in on the action, stealing sponges right out of the bucket (she likes water more than Shombay).Aja even walked across the floor of the hearth and left fresh footprints. We kept them as part of the fireplace (how could we not).

Shombay at one point discovered bubble wrap just by walking on it. He drove me crazy with the popping until he started to bite it, that's when I ruined the party and took it away.

After being scolded, Aja in her typical "Diva" fashion stormed off to another room to take a nap. Snapping her tail like a human would snap their fingers with attitude. Thank goodness she soon forgives!

AJSavannahs Website Down

Two of my websites have been down most of the weekend. I don't think it's related to the photo theft, since I've had service interruptions before. Never this length of time. The main blog is hosted on our website, so that's why it's not coming up, either.

Will likely be moving to another host since Hostway is totally unresponsive. Have emailed, opened a Trouble Ticket online, and been on hold three separate occasions for more than three hours. Never got past the initial menu.

Any recommendations for a quality small business hosting service -- remembering that AJSavannahs.com is a very dynamic site (at least when it's UP) -- any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Sambu and Toki (Terry and Jimmy)

Sambu (Terry) and Toki (Jimmy) are very happily settled into their new home with David in California. He's not set up on the AJSavannahs Family Blog yet, so I just had to share these photos. Sambu is flying from his cat tree and landing on a very soft king-size bed about eight feet away.

Sambu and Toki are F2B kittens from our F1 Kboo and F6A Mbau. This is the same pairing that gave us my sweet Harvey. Their brother Howie is as beautiful, just that our other David, in Florida, (who also has our F2B Tessa from Kboo and Mbau) hasn't sent recent photos! (No pressure there...)

Age five months in these photos, Sambu already weighs 13 pounds, Toki a bit less. We wanted these boys to stay together and were very happy when David obliged. This is the delivery that stranded me in Charlotte, with Andrew coming to our rescu. Andrew has our F2B kittens Zeus from Gabatta, Fina from Kboo, and F3C Isis who is Ayo's granddaughter.

Toki , above, showing off his Happy Tail, below, his beautifully contrasted coat. Although smaller than his brother (who isn't???) Toki has always managed to more than hold his own in any altercation, real or imagined.

Sambu has Kboo's sweet face and I think he's almost as pretty as Harvey. We expect him to be about 90% of Harvey's size when full grown, based on his birth weight and weight at age five months. Toki will be a large Savannah, but always dwarfed by Sambu. Even though Toki has the much larger personality.

We're expecting F2B kittens from Gabatta and Mbau late October. And should know in about a week if Kboo is pregnant, also from Mbau. If yes, her babies would be due mid-November.

BUSY BODIES

Ellie and I volunteered to help mom file and clean up the office. It has been a long time since she's had a chance to do it and the new computer is coming Monday(OH boy!). But......

The copier and desk got to jumping around so much we just plum tuckered out holding them down. Mom said we were especially good at that job.

Mom and dad are sure having fun throwing my toy. I have decided that fetch is the best game for me! The harder to find the better I like it. Mom gets a kick out of watching me strut back with my "prize". I am also into doing great big Serval leaps. Ellie and Tater don't much appreciate them but I do.

Can't wait to see our new little brothers and sure hope that Adrianne is feeling better soon!

Till next time
